Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto‚ the Japanese god of the moon‚ is one of the most mysterious deities in Shinto myth‚ born from the purification of the creator god Izanagi after his journey to the land of the dead․ As ruler of the night and the moons calm‚ distant light‚ Tsukuyomi is often portrayed as solemn‚ pure‚ and powerful‚ embodying order‚ silence‚ and celestial dignity․ His most famous myth tells of his breaking with the sun goddess Amaterasu after he killed Uke Mochi‚ the food goddess‚ when he was disgusted by the way she produced nourishment․ Amaterasu‚ horrified by his act‚ refused ever to look upon him again‚ and from that divine separation came the eternal division of day and night․ Because of this‚ Tsukuyomi remains a remote and shadowed figure in Japanese mythology‚ representing not only the beauty of moonlight‚ but also distance‚ judgment‚ and the cold stillness of the night sky․ Support my worlds here on ko-fiǃ https˸⁄⁄ko-fi․com⁄brotherjonathan
