When I was very young‚ I used to play hideandseek with a boy in the basement beneath the old annex of my family home․ His name has long since faded‚ and even his face drifts away like dust in a sunbeam․ Sometimes I wonder if he was ever really there or if he was only a gentle memory that chose to stay with me․
